Expat English Speaking Groups Costa Brava

Hi we are an English family due to move to the Costa Brava in March 2014, we are looking for English community groups we can join as we are currently living in France and my partner is a Qualified Bosch Diesel Technician who has been working on boats and cars here in France.

We are looking to move towards Roses, Estartit as we want to be near the canals and sea boats.But also will be advertising motor vehicle work to the English communities.

We are also in contact with property agents for a long term letting for 6/12 months from 1st March.

I wondered if you would be able to help possibly with info on English groups, and also if you could pass any info on the property side if you have any.

Good luck on your move to the Costa Brava! The Alt Emporda region where you are planning to move to is really beautiful.

For English community groups I think the British Society of Catalunya is a good place to start. They have branches in Roses and L’Escala (which is very near to L’Estartit).

Also, although you are not planning a move to Barcelona, you might find the Barcelona Women’s Network a useful and supportive organisation to join.
