Festival of Giants - Costa Brava 2012

Hi we came to L'Escala 2 years ago for a holiday and were lucky enough to see the Festival of Giants and a music festival where live bands played in a field.

Do you when / if these are taking place again. If so which month.

Thanks for getting in touch. I agree, the Festival of Giants is fantastic.

I know that the Festival of Giants in L'Estartit (which is the next town south of L'Escala) is taking place on the second weekend in July this year. The date of the L'Escala festival has yet to be confirmed but as soon as it is I will update my response.

Finally the giants have revealed their festival timetable for 2012 (well, some dates anyway)!

It takes a while for them to coordinate themselves as the giants are made up of a pair of giants from each town in Catalonia, that go on a tour of all the towns over the summer and autumn months.

The festival of giants will be in L’Escala on 25 and 26 August, from 6.30pm onwards. If that date is no good for your holiday, they will in neighbouring L’Estartit on 14 July, from 6.30pm onwards.
